Here are some of the questions that
have come up since I began my home base business with
candles...
| Aren't all candles
alike? |
No, there are many different
types of candles. Different types of wax
have different features that they can
contribute to the final
product.
|
|
"So what's
Natural Wax?"
Natural wax
occurs naturally in our environment or as a
bi product of something else that occurs
naturally. Don't be fooled into
believeing that some waxes are not
natural. Bees wax is natural wax, so
is earwax but I don't want a candle made of
that!
Some will tell
you that Paraffin wax is not a natural wax
since it has to be processed. Soy wax
and Vegetable wax must also be processed so
you can't call paraffin wax a non natural
wax and call soy or veggie wax
natural. This is a common
missconception in our industry and within
our company.
|
| Are
your candles really soot
free? |
When I first started my business
back in January 2005, I advertised our
candles as soot free. This was a mistake. I
have since educated myself about the candle
industry as well as the different types of
candles and learned a very simple fact,
everything with a flame is capable of
producing soot. I can however say our
candles are nearly soot free. This is based
on my personal use of our product as well
as the testimonies from my customers. You
will not find a nasty black soot ring
around the tops of our jar
candles.
|
| I'm
familar with your company but confused about
what your candles are made
of. |
We market a candle product made
from Vegetable wax. There is no paraffin or
beeswax and while our formulations may
contain soy, only a candle that contains
25% soy should be considered a soy candle.
It is not a soy candle.
|
| Aren’t Soy candles more desirable
than other candles? |
Not for the gourmet market. Soy
is the current “Buzz” word in the candle
industry as well as other industries. In
the gourmet market, customers are looking
for a highly scented product and they don’t
care if it’s soy, vegetable wax or
paraffin.
|
| I
read that your candles are also made with
beeswax, is this true? |
Actually until very recently our
final product did contain beeswax.
Currently North America is experiencing a
decline in Bee populations which is called
colony collapse. The cause of this
phenomenon isn’t really known but it seems
to occur in cycles every 30 or so
years.
Because of the current colony collapse the
price of Beeswax has gone up dramatically
causing it to be removed from our product
line.
|
| I’ve
read on many websites that promote a home base
business with candles that paraffin is an
unhealthy choice and burning one in your home
will expose you and your family to some nasty
toxins and even
carcinogens |
Not true! There currently is not
sufficient evidence to support any health
claims about paraffin candles. When I
started my business I also used this
“marketing technique” mostly because it was
what I was told about our products. It’s a
common tactic used by many distributors who
simply do not know the truth and are
relying on what they have been
told.
|
| OK
so if Paraffin is ok why should I buy your
candles? |
Quite simply because our candles
smell wonderful and are better performing
than others on the market. They are also
made from renewable resources and are right
in line price wise with the traditional
counterparts.
